“Ideas Left Right”
Bring
ideation into the 21st century by
marrying
right brain creativity with left brain accountability
Do
“brainstorming” techniques leave you too unfocused, with creative
but unworkable material?
Is it a
challenge to take the output from an ideation session and implement
next steps as Management expects?
Business runs
on ideas. Marketers seek to match consumer needs to capabilities/
technologies. Life runs at the speed of light. New ideas, new ways
of looking at consumer needs, are constantly needed to prime
the pump of business.
What it is:
Ideation is not new. What is new about “Ideas Left Right” is
the marriage of right brain creativity with left brain
accountability and meeting structure. The purpose – to make
brainstorming relevant in today’s tougher business climate. We
begin with the creative process and end with a highly
structured/focused assessment of ideas generated, and a game plan to
further the more promising ideas, thus ensuring both the creative
raw output and the discipline to convert that material into
initiatives to drive the business.
How it Works:
The first portion of the program is ideation. Our ideation is not
boilerplate but rather, uses a wide variety of projective techniques
tailored to the project goals and the team participants. (When
consumers are included, we carefully screen for right brain
strength.) At the conclusion of ideation, participants are brought
back to a more traditional business meeting climate, concluding with
a “Power Debrief” during which all creative output is evaluated and
prioritized against predetermined criteria, and an action plan is
implemented to ensure that responsibilities and next steps are
assigned.
Benefits,
Applications:
The chief benefit is the delivery of ideation services that marry
creativity with accountability. You get creative output that you
can use, and you have a game plan for implementation before you walk
out the door.
Suggestions:
As mentioned, the Power Debrief is an essential component of the
“Ideas Left Right” program. “Ideas Left Right” also works well with
“Fast Break” to maintain a fast track focus on the project, when the
program calls for transition to an evaluative phase (qualitative
research).
