The Issue:

The United States Postal Service was facing an existential crisis from competition both online and “on the road.”  The USPS had significant assets and infrastructure but needed to learn how to leverage these in a rapidly changing landscape. 

RG Insight:

Through research with stakeholders who rely on communication and delivery, we were able to identify myriad avenues of opportunity to reposition USPS services, and reconfigure its business relationships to compete more effectively. 

Recommendation:

One of several solutions was to create new sales opportunities ancillary to the USPS’ core products and services, specifically targeting small business operators, and sole proprietors.

The Issue:

A large supplier of gaming services to state and national lotteries wanted to rejuvenate consumer interest in an old game, which was experiencing waning interest. They needed a statistically robust data set to make a go/no go decision, but were challenged to present concepts in a realistic setting and they also needed qualitative feedback. 

RG Insight:

Through a custom-designed approach, employing multiple research methodologies, we created a social venue ambience in a traditional research setting, presented realistic simulations of future game concepts, and gained valuable feedback on complex new game options. 

Recommendation:

The resulting analysis and recommendations provided a clear pathway for concept selection/refinement designed to promote increased interest, popularity, and ensure sustained profitability.

The Issue:

Faced with an aging population of Baby Boomers entering their last full decade of work, a consortium of financial service providers sought to understand and anticipate the specialized financial/retirement services needs of this age cohort. 

RG Insight:

We designed and conducted custom research across a broad array of the target population by age, socioeconomic factors and geography. 

Recommendation:

Our consultative needs-driven approach provided insights that were unique to this particular cohort’s circumstances, needs and expectations, insights valuable to marketers of financial services to a highly valued market.

The Issue:

A non-profit organization with an important social services mission was failing due to lack of oversight. 

RG Insight:

A top-to-bottom assessment of key constituents including board, volunteers, donors and service users was conducted in order to understand the root causes of the decline.

Recommendation:

Leveraging our expertise in the non-profit sphere, we synthesized the research insights to create a path forward, by recommending a strategy and a series of tactical actions which would rebuild and regain the trust of key stakeholders and avoid shutdown of the services provided.
